Default I finally got my studio lighting kit

After much debating about the cost, I finally bit the bullet and bought professional studio lighting.

This is really gonna step up the quality level of the reviews here at OCModShop... the photos I've already taken look very professinal like they belong in a magazine. I'm hoping that vendors start sending us stuff just for the marketing benefits of being reviewed by OCMS.

Attached is an example of the kind of thing you're going to be seeing here at OCMS... this is straight out of the camera with no adjustments or editing of any kind (other than resizing)... and this is with my "crappy" Nikon D50.

Very impressive. Now with a little depth of field these pictures would really pop. Have you ever tried the depth of field generator for Photoshop?

Ya, I've seen the filter, but I get much more impressive and realistic results from a good lens. Those shots were taken before I got my Sigma 105mm macro lens. The f2.8 aperture creates a LOT of DoF...

Lately I've been doing 'standard' shots on a white or black background and haven't been experimenting with colored gels. I'm starting to incorporate interesting textures and effects into the product shots... because you can see the same 'clipping path' images all over the web.
