Crappy APC UPS

So I just bought brand new APC BACK UPS W5 550 from Office Max because it was really cheap and APC is a really good brand. I've tried a few "off brand" UPSes, and they never really worked.

I leave my PC on all the time, and I started noticing in the morning that I was presented with a login screen, and apparently my computer had rebooted during the night.

Then my PC started turning off on me, with no warning. I wasn't gaming or anything... just writing documents or browsing the web... no power-hungry applications at all.

When the power goes out, a really annoying alarm sounds off, even when the PC is on. I have to press the power button to turn off the alarm, which also would turn off my PC (which had come back up after the UPS shut off previously).

I thought that 550W would be more than enough for a moderate gaming rig.

So, I'm not exactly sure what to do. Should I bother getting this thing repaired or just buy a new UPS? Is this model crap, or do I need a higher-capacity model?
